The Core Team consists of five volunteer community leaders and a hired project coordinator.  The Core Team manages and directs the operations and administration of the initiative, facilitates the work of the five design circles, and liaises and reports on the initiative to project partners and community stakeholders.

Mike has proven experience working with diverse partners to promote community well-being and positive change.

Randal Goodfellow has a background in finance, public policy development, and corporate and government relations for the renewable energy, chemicals, materials and clean technology sectors. Randal is a national leader in faith-based property regeneration for social purpose – helping faith based communities to regenerate buildings and facilities to meet community needs, in an economic and environmentally-friendly manner, collaborating with community  organizations, social service agencies, development companies, environmental  groups, municipal governments and cultural  institutions and bodies.

Graeme Hussey is the Development Manager for Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation (CCOC), a private not-for-profit affordable housing provider with 1,600 homes in downtown Ottawa. Graeme is also president of CAHDCO, an affordable housing developer and consultant and a leader in innovative, sustainable, supportive and mixed-income housing development in Ottawa.

Gina Grosenick has 20 years’ experience working in the non-profit sector, as a lobbyist, communicator, executive, and project manager. She has extensive experience working with and advising Boards and committees, managing government-funded projects and research, cultivating relationships with government officials and other stakeholders, navigating and communicating within the political process, and working with volunteers. Gina is an instructor at Carleton University teaching communications and community advocacy.

Each BtB Design Circle is co-convened by two community leaders who, working with a team of stakeholders and experts in the field, research and identify new ideas and mechanisms to address a specific element of affordable housing development.

In 2009, Bill helped establish Sustainable Living Ottawa West (SLOWest), a grassroots community network in the west end of Ottawa exploring how to live in an environmentally sustainable, socially just, and spiritually fulfilling way. Bill is a Board member of the West End Well, a co-operatively run grocery, café, and meeting space in Ottawa’s Hintonburg neighbourhood.

George Brown is a lawyer and social entrepreneur. He is Principal of George Brown Law. Prior to this, George spent nine years as President of the Ottawa Community Loan Fund (OCLF), as well as 9 years as a City and Regional Councillor in Ottawa. George is a Senior Research Fellow with the Carleton Centre for Community and Non-profit Innovation as well as a Part-Time Professor at the University of Ottawa Law School. He is a member of United Way/Centraide Ottawa's Community Investment Committee and was nominated as the New Democratic Party candidate for the Federal Electoral District of Ottawa South.
